Most issues can be solved in a few steps. If you are still stuck, contact support.
Not detecting sensitive data
- Check that ChatShield is enabled in the popup.
- Reload the page after installing the extension.
- Verify you are on a supported site (ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini).
- Ensure the detection type is enabled in settings.
Warning modal not appearing
- Confirm the extension has permission for the site.
- Disable other extensions that may block scripts.
- Try an incognito window with only ChatShield enabled.
False positives
- Use allowlist rules to ignore specific patterns (Pro).
- Reduce sensitivity if the option is available.
Trial or license issues
- Restart Chrome to refresh license status.
- Verify your system date and time.
- Contact support with your license key or order email.
